(2021). <\/strong><br><strong>Ca\u00f1ari children, cows and milk production: Toward ch\u2019ixi temporalities in the Andes.\u00a0<em>Childhood<\/em>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>This article considers the intersection of multiple and, at times, seemingly conflicting temporalities in Andean childhoods. We draw on Silvia Rivera Cusicanqui\u2019s scholarship on Andean sociology and our ethnographic research with Ca\u00f1ari families to argue that Ca\u00f1ari families\u2019 and children\u2019s relations with cows and milk production are fueled by both capitalist and Andean temporalities that cannot be thought as opposites. These temporal relations do not create confusion or limiting binaries but are, we propose, itinerant.
